SECRETARIES HALF YEAR REPORT
JUNE 2005
Tower of Lebanon 169 officially started January 2005. The Installation night
saw W. Brother Leslie Mc Cutcheon take the Chair. All went well and Officers
were suitably installed. However at this point an "Alarm at the Porch"
announced that a gas-leak at a nearby redevelopement site meant the evening
had to be abandoned. The Installation Dinner was held over to after the February
Communication.
New members were proposed Michael Lennox a Candidate (Brother of W. B. Robert
Lennox) and Trevor McKender an affiliate. I am happy to report that Bro. Lennox
has received his Entered Apprentice Degree. One further Candidate was proposed
and is awaiting clearance from Inspection Committees.
Unfortunately we have also lost some members. W. Bro. Evans due to ill health,
W. Bro. Tom Reid who sadly died in America, and W. Bro. Tommy Kirk due to work
commitments.
We continue the Lodge refreshments in conjunction with Cliftonville 424 which
works very well for both parties. Our Festive Board is usually the "Finger Buffet"
as supplied by the caterers. In May we were further joined in refreshment by
members of Woodvale Lodge 572. We hope the friendship between the Lodges can
continue to the benefit of all.
DECEMBER 2005
The end of the first year and all goes well.
During the Summer we held a Clay Pigeon Shoot. Organised by Bob Lennox a great
day was had by all. Hopefully this will become a regular event.
Sadly lost two members Billy Drysdale and John Millar due to ill health. Fortunately
Michael Lennox has now received his Third Degree and Roddy gilles has passed
the Inspection Committees. It is hoped First Degrees will be carried out in
February 2006. Another candidate was proposed and is awaiting approval by the
Inspection Committee.
We continue to Refresh the Lodge in the company of Cliftonville and Woodvale.
The arrangement continues to work well.
